“I thought you were supposed to be in Paris?”

“I am in Paris”

Blow-up (1966) Dir: Michelangelo Antonioni

Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void…

“The cinema is true; a story is false. One could argue this with
a semblance of conviction. But I prefer to say that their truths are different”

Jean Epstein

In Greek mythology, Chaos was the origin of everything, the empty, unfathomable space at the beginning of time. Personified as female, Chaos was the primal feature of the universe, a shadowy realm of mass and energy from which much of what is powerful would originate. In the beginning, Chaos was all that there was, the dark majesty and mystery of creation incarnate.

Whether it be internal or external, out of chaos comes creativity.

“Dreams shed light on the dim places where reason itself has yet to voyage.”

Jordan B. Peterson,  12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos

“How do you explain something that doesn’t exist? Papa C. doesn’t exist. Daleks probably don’t exist… Whose idea was it to make them fly? Idiot. Daleks don’t fly.”

My art practice doesn’t exist in a manner that is easy to define. My art is about ideas. My ideas. Those ideas may appear unconventional, even a bit strange - isn’t that what art is all about?

My ideas fluctuate like the weather.  As an artist, I make things - sculpture, films, sound.
I don’t have a cause, I make observations - observations about people and the society we live in.
